Two of the songs were co-written by Martin, three others were written by alumni of Martin's band and three of the album's ten songs were recorded by Martin during his long career with Decca Records. Tom Adams' banjo playing on this recording showcases the hard-driving style he developed during his tenure with Martin in the mid-1980s just prior to joining the red-hot Johnson Mountain Boys in 1986. The banjo tablature in this book captures the playing style Tom used as a member of Jimmy Martin's Sunny Mountain Boys, especially the backup rolls and licks. Tom Adams and Audie Blaylock met at their first gig with Jimmy Martin in 1983. Audie played mandolin and sang tenor with Martin for nine years. While still a member of Martin's band, Audie was the first mandolin player to tour in 1988 with the newly-formed Lynn Morris Band, of which Tom was a founding member. The two former Sunny Mountain Boys collaborated again in 1995-6 with Lynn Morris, in 2001 with Rhonda Vincent, and most recently on Michael Cleveland's award-winning debut album for Rounder Records, Flame Keeper, released in 2002.		This collection of songs with its companion tab book reflects the excitement and energy that was a hallmark of the Jimmy Martin sound.
